Nick became an enthusiastic SPHS dance dad when his oldest daughter joined the team as a freshman in 2010.  After his youngest daughter joined the team in 2015, he joined the SPDO as our V.P. and is currently leading the board as SPDO President for his second time.

Shadle Park Dance Organization

Leadership

Shadle Park has been my home since 2003, and I have been blessed to work with the Dance Team since 2004. As a coach, I am incredibly proud of my team, their hard work, and their Shadle Park spirit!  My top goals are to develop a unified team of athletes and artists, to equip leaders who can inspire and challenge one another, and to provide an atmosphere where dancers can form the foundation for life-long friendships.

 

As a founding member of the SPDO, I have also been encouraged and inspired by the support of our dance families and board members. Their dedication is enabling me to create a vision for this team that was previously unattainable. I'm looking forward to seeing what our future holds--with the support of our SPDO and community sponsors!

Kristyn started working with the team in 2014 when her freshman daughter joined the team.  Her daughter is now our team captain, and Kristyn is continuing to guide our SPDO as treasurer for the third year in a row.

Job Duties:

  • In conjunction with the Vice President, recruits and coordinates participants (students/parents/teachers) to Shadle Park Dance Organization fundraisers

  • Recruits participants (students/parents/teachers/alumni) to committees for the SPHS regional dance competition each winter.

  • Provides references and cost estimates based on last year’s SPHS dance competition, to help guide the current year’s committees.

  • Maintains a list of decorations and supplies that are still available for use at SPDO events.

  • As needed, coordinates parent contributions for events such as the summer BBQ and the spring Banquet.

Barb first connected with the Shadle dance team when her oldest daughter joined the team as a freshman in 2010.  She joined the SPDO in 2016 as our secretary after her youngest daughter joined the dance team, and she has helped us continue growing our board with increased organization.

Billie Jo has been a dedicated dance mom since her oldest daughter joined our team in 2014. Her oldest daughter is now our team PR Manager, and her next oldest daughter has joined the team as well. For 2 years, Billie Jo served as our SPDO committee chair and she is currently serving as our Vice President. 

Job Duties:

  • Serves as a liaison between the Shadle Park Dance Organization and the parents of the current team

  • Recruits parents to Shadle Park Dance Organization meetings

  • Track current and alumni membership and attendance at meetings; communicates these records to the secretary for inclusion in the minutes.

  • Notifies alumni members of upcoming and/or past events

  • Assists with the ordering of SPDO t-shirts in the fall and winter seasons

  • Records minutes and other note-taking when the secretary is absent

  • This is a non-voting position
